Our schools in Venice

Venice, our Destination of the Month, has the full package for language students. Not only does it offer a very rich culture from its music, art, carnival and architecture but it is also a important international centre for higher education, being home to three large international universities.

The importance of speaking a second language is growing rapidly as travel is becoming easier and businesses are going international. While Italian might not be in the top three most spoken languages globally (English, Mandarin and Spanish), this may actually be to your advantage. If you are one of the few who can speak this language, you are likely to stand out and be more in demand, so lets take a look at our school in Venice...

Italian in Venice - Instituto Venezia

The School

The school that we work with in Venice, Instituto Venezia, is located in a historic building with a large terrace in the Campo Santa Margherita area of the city. It is a great location for students to meet the locals and do some shopping in the boutiques or relax in one of the open-air caf├ęs.

The school is officially recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, which ensures high quality language training. All of the teachers are native speakers and qualified in the teaching of Italian as a foreign language. Students have access to WiFi, a fully furnished self-access study room and the school's collection of films.

All students ages 16 and up of all levels can take part in these programmes, on the first Monday after arrival students will be evaluated so that they are placed in an appropriate class.

An activity programme is included to provide students a cultural education as well as a linguistic one. The minimum duration is one week and courses take place year round.

Host Family: Staying with a host family is the perfect compliment to your Italian lessons, giving students more opportunities to speak everyday Italian with locals and get a real inside look at the daily life and family culture in Italy. The host families are carefully selected for the quality of the accommodation and welcome that they offer students.

The families offer students single rooms (or double rooms if two students are travelling together). While meals are not included, students have access to the kitchen where they can prepare all of their meals.

Student Residence: The student residence is located in the historic centre of the city, in the Giudecca district. The residence has 25 rooms, a communal sitting room and kitchen, WiFi connection and laundry facilities. Students have single rooms (or double if two students are travelling together) with private bathrooms.
